Studio Brief 3 - Other elements for the identity

Flyers

The flyer designs work as promotional material as well as an interactive element that ties to the social media. The cubes within the design would be cut out so that the design in the middle could be seen through.

This would allow visitors to take the flyer and use it to frame their favourite place in Leeds. These images would then be uploaded to social media as a way of encouraging engagement with the event. This would also link well to the images of the different events we had used elsewhere in the branding. There would be three types of flyers one for each of the blocks making them collectible.

Initially we considered screen printing the designs onto the acetate to allow the cubes to be seen through without the need for cutting the middles out. However in crit feedback it was said that potentially the print may scratch off. Instead it was considered that perhaps the design could be screen printed then laminated as a way of creating a more substantial flyer. This material would also allow the middles to be seen through, however there were questions as to whether the laminate would be clear enough to take a picture through. It was suggested that perhaps we could screen print onto blue cardstock instead then lasercut the shapes out. The designs were made to be only three colours for ease when printing, however this could potentially just be two if using blue cardstock.
