Drawings
Brodsky and Utkins architectural drawings, use a variety of viewpoints of a structure, to create interesting compositions. Using this technique initial drawings have been made to reflect the different aspects and viewpoints of the Corridor of Time.
Cross sections, Plan views, Side Views and cropped sections of the room have been explored. At the moment it may be quite difficult to include the pendulums because of the problems with getting the right perspective.
The Foyer was also used as an alternative perspective. Gordon Cullen's ideas around Serial Vision which show a journey through a space using different perspectives, influenced the inclusion of this perspective. This is the entrance into the room so the beginning of the journey through the space making it relevant. The statue was left out of the drawings because this was not part of the structure of the room.
Getting the proportions right for the doors within the Foyer was difficult because of the shape of the room and the angle of the picture that was being used as reference.
Plan views of the building had already been created so these were simplified and would use block colour to define areas. By zooming into the original image this enabled a better understanding of where the room was in relation to the local area within the exhibition.
