Studio Brief 3 - Final Crit presentation

Feedback on Group Presentation

Overall feedback on how George and myself presented was good , the group also thought that the physical presentation was consistent and well put together. They also though that there was consistency within the whole concept.

Previously in the day we had found out that it was not possible to do double sided printing at A2 in college, so this meant we had to rethink how we were going to create the catalogue. It was suggested that we could screen print one side of the catalogue and digitally print the other although we would have to reduce the amount of colours needed.

It was suggested that social media could be expanded upon, however perhaps we did not show this well enough within the presentation. In terms of the presentation it was suggested that perhaps we could add more references to show where and how our ideas came about.

The group felt that the interactive flyers were interesting and would work well i engaging the public with the exhibition. Our idea of screen printing onto acetate it was said could prove to be problematic because the design may scratch off. However it was also suggested that the design could be printed onto card stock and the middles cut out either by hand or lasercut.

Following the crit it was also suggested that the imagery on the catalogue print could be half toned and each image would be coloured differently to the cube that surrounded it, allowing it to create contrast between the two layers (e.g. all black cubes would have a yellow half tone image within it). It was discussed that the front of the catalogue would be difficult to screen print because of the need for accuracy which is unlikely with three screens in screen printing. The front side needed to be the cleanest design to make it look professional. This meant that it would have to be the catalogue A2 print that would be screenprinted as this is supposed to be a print anyway so the process would make each unique and it wouldn't matter if the registration wasn't completely right because it would reflect the process. Half toning the background images to the same colour pallette would mean that three screens would be needed.
