Terrarium Visual References

- terrarium come in different forms, with some being made purely of glass and others combining this with a metal frame 

- metal framed terrariums often use geometric shapes within their nets to create contemporary and minimalist designs.

- the use of these materials and the forms that they create look and work in the same way as a greenhouse

- the use of metal to join the glass creates a watertight seal for both of the materials making it suitable for closed terrariums  

- glass only terrariums can be made from found jars, bottles, bowls etc. The forms of these containers are often more curved creating a contrast with the geometric designs of the metal and glass terrariums 

- having lots of clear glass panels allows the light to reach the plants within, whilst also allowing people to see the plants well. The soil layers of the terrariums are also visible with the glass allowing a cross section of the soil to be seen.
