Initial Ideas Mindmap for Presentation 

It was considered how Green Infrastructure could be increased in cities to encourage more biodiversity. It was thought that this could be done through improving existing sites and improving green spaces in our individual spaces.

Thoughts on improving existing spaces

- examples of existing spaces , streets, parks, neglected spaces etc
- neglected spaces could be improved perhaps through an app or game where people submit designs for small spaces within the city, with the best design being made
- community projects where neighbourhoods are able to convert / do up their own spaces 
- in parks create a campaign to highlight simple ways for making spaces more suitable for biodiversity 
- increase awareness of biodiversity in cities through an app that can help people survey wildlife int heir area 
- survey highlighting areas of biodiversity to prevent them being built on
- make spaces places to visit 
- tree protection campaign 

Thoughts on improving individual spaces 

- book of suitable planting for different areas 
- before and after showing the difference green infrastructure and biodiversity has
- front garden improvements / convert a paving slab 

Other 

- environmental furniture to increase and integrate biodiversity into cities 
- campaign highlighting the biodiversity in cities
- trail with wayfinding encouraging the use of green infrastructure in cities and highlighting different types of habitats
