Collaboration Meet Up
Points discussed:
- In terms of packaging it was said that the fruit crate idea could work well if made from wood to crate a traditional feel, however it could also be made from cardboard in a similar way to how fruit is distributed today. It was suggested that perhaps burning into the wood could look interesting. This effect could be created using the lasercutter. Also screenprinting on to the wood / cardboard could allow colour to be added.
- It was agreed that the tin idea would be too difficult to do and not necessary
- It was said that the packaging needs to be versatile and be easy to travel around with making it easy to play with in different places
- We want to create a fun and playful aesthetic however we are conscious that it shouldn't look to childish so a more refined and minimal design could work well.
- It was suggested that possibly having a logo for the game could be useful, however this could also just be a logotype.
- Creating a whole fruit in the game it was said should have bonus points
Laura's initial sketches
Things that we said could be developed:
- It was said that the pips needed to be made larger as these were the 'numbers' on the dominoes so had to be prominent
- It was said that having a variety of fruit pieces could be interesting rather than just watermelon, however we said that potentially the same design could be used however the colours could be adapted to reflect different fruit.
List of things that were identified as being needed for the game:
- Instructions
- Box / Packaging design
