Construction of Final Type Layouts
To create the final designs for each month a circular grid was created in which each of the monthly shapes was placed within. Features of the grid include:
- an internal border in which the numbers are placed along
- radiating lines from the hole in each design were used to accurately space the numbers within the design and draw the dashed lines. This was also rotated around depending on the availability of space.
- a ring around the central hole and a ring before the numbers created the length on the dashed lines
- a guide was placed below the cut off section on all of the shapes to act as a consistent baseline for the months and other text at the top.
Once one design was created for each month the numbers and weeks were just changed each time to create the rest of the designs.
Complete Designs
The finished designs were then arranged to fit on an A4 sheet of paper, which mean they had to be rotated to make the best use of the space.

Example of Print Designs
The print design only contained text and a border line which would act as a way of registering the lasercutter.
Example of Laser Cutter Designs
The lasercutter design had the outline of the shapes and the border line set at 0.25mm. Lining the laser up with the printed border line on the paper would mean that the border line on the laser document would be cut in the same place.
