Packaging Ideas and Visual References for Packaging

To come up with packaging ideas for the board game it was considered how fruit is traditionally packaged in supermarkets as well as thinking about features of the fruit.

What does fruit look like / features of fruit :
Has a skin
Divided into segments / pieces
Has pips

Features of fruit shaped packaging:

- Many of the packaging designs use basic geometric shapes to create the impression of fruit, with them mainly being visualised as segments or half piece so the insides of the fruit could be seen.

- The designs also often use a limited colour palette with vibrant colours to create a playful aesthetic. 

- The use of cardboard / paper as a material allows for interesting shapes to be created reflecting the shape of fruits. 

- The use of fabric allows the packaging to expand with the contents which is effective for putting away game pieces in a not uniform way.
