OUGD503 - Studio Brief 2 - Hasbro Board Game (Large Collaborative) - Meet Up 4

07 / 02 / 2018

Collaboration Meet Up

Points discussed:
- Laura liked the concepts of all three of the games however was drawn to both the woodstack game and the fruit game
- The wood stack game she said was interesting because of the three dimensional element
- It was said that both concepts could be developed to have a race element were you collect stacks or fruit individually.
- The wood stack game it was said could be interesting because the game could just continue being stacked creating a sense of balance within the game.
- The woodstack pieces could have rings (to reflect the cross section of a tree)  to represent the different numbers. Having these as visuals rather than numbers means that it would take people time to process what they have making it harder to quickly create the stacks individually.
- It was said that both of the fruit games could be within the same game if the pieces are reversible.

Overall it was decided that we would take the fruit game forward as this had an easy to understand concept that adapted elements of traditional Dominoes to create a fun and quirky idea, whilst having strong, colourful visuals and gameplay to play with for the design of the game. Also fruit as a subject is appropriate for a wide audience making it suitable for others outside the target audience as well.

Next Meet Up : 14 / 2 / 18
