OUGD503 - Studio Brief 1 - G . F Smith Calendar (Large Individual) - Tutor Feedback

Tutor Feedback

Using the dashed lines radiating from the center of the design, which would be used for writing what was happening on that day / notes, it was said, made the design work better as a memo pad.  Using a singular line per day was said to be enough as the design with two lines per day looked to busy. Also having the Week 1, Week 2 etc on each page made it easier to understand that the individual numbers were days of the week.

It was suggested that the designs that I had created should be printed off at scale to test how large everything would be in real life and to see how much space that would give people to write on and whether the design would be functional.

We discussed that Claret should be changed to a lighter brown (either Nuckback Brown or Harvest) as this would mean all the colours would be able to have black printed over the top of them as seen in the G .F Smith Paper Book. If the dark brown was left this would need to be individually screen printed in white to allow the text to show up on the paper. Also the lighter browns are more in keeping with the original colour palette picked for autumn.
