OUGD505 - Studio Brief 2 - City Patch Project - Stickers and Car Sticker

Stickers and Car Sticker

Car Sticker

It was considered that as a way of showing support for the project a car or window sticker would allow a wide range of people to see the brand. Havign a car sticker within the pack means that a large amount of members will then be travelling around with advertising for the project on their car. Also this mode of transport is used often for people to get into the city to work etc meaning the design will be seen in and around the city where the project exists. This could also act as a way of perhaps getting free parking in the city center to visit the patches for an hour.

Originally it was considered that perhaps the the design could follow the use of white as a background colour as with the other designs. However it was considered that usually car window stickers were printed on clear a slightly see through vinyl so white wouldn't show up.

When looking at other car stickers it was found that many used vibrant colours to make them stand out on the window. With this in mind it was thought using only the colour scheme and typography from the branding would allow the designs to be bold. This had been explored previously in other designs but hadn't worded as well with imagery, whereas on its own it creates a strong and bold aesthetic creating impact in a small design.  Using the green for the car sticker linked best to the idea of the green patch and created the brightest design. Placing the logotype and patch ornament opposite one another created balance within the design.

Set of Small Stickers

A set of small stickers were also produced using the same colour scheme. These could be applied to any surface and used as the audience would like, however these could be stuck to laptops, placed around the city as guerilla advertising etc. The small size of the stickers meant that refining the designs to use only the brand elements, logo, logotype and patch ornament, created the boldest designs.
