Compost Heap Research
- Composting in the garden is an environmentally friendly way of getting rid of kitchen and garden waste.
- Compost is created for the garden
- Balancing green and brown materials within the compost heap allows the bacteria that produce compost work best.
- There shouldn't be a layer that is much larger than the rest e.g. grass as this gets smelly
- Woody brown material should be mixed with kitchen waste and grass as these are usually quite wet.
- 25 - 50% of the compost heap should be green material e.g. grass, weeds, waste vegetables
- The rest should be woody brown material e.g. wood chippings, paper, cardboard, dead leaves, straw

Visual Imagery
Visual imagery has shown the distinctiveness of layers within the compost heap. Also a compost heap is usually put in wooden containers which could be used as the form of object.
