Map Design Development
- For the cover it was considered that only the branding colour and typography could be used in a similar way to previous experimentation to create a bold design , with the map aspect being represented by the different sized patch ornaments which reflect locations within the map.
- The design as a whole will have a large scale map on one side with the whole design folding down into four , with a cover and back. This leaves only half a side for the information about the patches on the map.
- It was considered that there could be various sized images of the different patches with some of the larger ones having larger pictures. However when this was trialed it was found that within the space available not many patches would be able to be featured.

- It was considered that there could be a box suggesting smaller patches to visit. Having these in a box means that not every patch has to have an image and only the larger ones could be featured with an image. Outlining this in the the dark green reflects the lines used in the patch ornament, however doesn't really make the information stand out.
- Using imagery on the front of the map in some way it was thought would tie the design back to the patches themselves and create more of a link with them.

- Instead of having various sized images a group of the largest patches were featured with the same sized image creating consistency and allowing each to be equally represented.
- Placing the different patch imagery and text vertically makes it clearer to follow the order of the patches, which are all numbered to correspond with the main map.
- For the box with the other patches in it, it was considered that using the light green as a fill colour would allow the box to stand out more amongst the other content, whilst still allowing type to be placed over the top without conflicting with the other colours.
