Initial Colour scheme and development
Initial Colours
To reflect a sense of urban vs nature within the design it was considered that green and grey could be used to represent the physical colours of these different aspects with grey representing the concrete of the city and green reflecting plants.
Having a mix of light and darker greens within the colour scheme will allow for contrast to be created within the design.
The addition of the brown creates an earthy sense within the colour scheme emphasising the natural element.
Developing the colour schemes
When the previous colour scheme was used within the logotype and logo designs in different ways various things were found:- using the darker grey created greater contrast against the other colours.
- the more yellowy green within the colour scheme showed the range of greens seen within nature when combined with the other darker greens.
- the brown within the previous scheme was too dark when combined with the other colours and didn't have anything in common with the rest of the scheme colours.
- Using lighter tints of the dark greys and greens within the colour scheme would allow for contrast when combined however both would complement each other when put together.
- Having more greens could reflect a sense that green is greater than grey or green space is more important than urban space.
