Studio Brief 2 - Object - Typography Research

Exploring my object typographically

By using letters from the word clock I explored my object typographically through collaging. By layering the letter forms, different types of clocks from my research were created. Using a Sans serif typeface seemed to be the most effective because of their clean and simple forms. The use of a serif typeface led to more ornate symbols being created which created a more traditional feel to the images. As well as being quite literal when exploring physical representations of clock forms I also began to visualise time in frames, as a sequence of images.  These were particularly effective when using only a circle as the ‘clock’ and then different elements could be added or taken away to create versions of ‘clocks’.
