Directional Symbol Ideas

For my system I need directional arrows that also show distance as well as pointing from place to place. This distance could be represented using different length lines , a wider arc for further distances or radiating curves, with more curves being further away.

Another thing to take into consideration is how to show the position of the owls on the buildings. To do this the building could be broken down into sections to indicate low, middle and high. The owls position would then be signified by a circle in the correct location

As a directional arrow, playing on the concept of an owls field of vision , the arrow arc could be wider to represent something further away and something closer could be more sharply curved.
