Studio Brief 2 - Object - Pentagram Papers

Pentagram papers

The Pentagram papers aim to bring original content to a wider audience and make harder concepts more accessible to a variety of people.  Their focus is to explore the overlooked and bring attention to these through the papers. The design has a uniform layout for all covers creating consistency across the series. The layout creates a standardised format meaning every subject is equal. The content is the main focus of the booklets and have little comment from the designers. The content is presented objectively so the viewer can take what they want they want from it. Inside the content layout is designed and adapted to best reflect the topic. The papers are highly collectable because of the original content they contain which adds value to them. The papers also aim to provide a basis for further research and create sparks for further development by others. The papers cover a wide range of subjects, with the papers providing a format for concepts that would otherwise not be possible or usable in commercial design. The papers are created in their own time rather than to a deadline. By having restrictions such as deadlines this forces work to be produced leading to less original work. By having more freedom more inspiring content can be created.
