Studio Brief 2 - Object Printed Document - Refining the design

Refining the design further

By removing elements from the original design this emphasised the breeziness of blowing the seeds off of the dandelion. It created a more delicate appearance to the elements with most being independent and other interacting and overlapping each other. Using further colour swatches from dandelion images meant that a range of variations could be created.

These swatches had a greater range of colours which meant more contrast could be created between elements. By changing the stroke shape for some of the longer lines, it created a finer and more hair like appearance to the shapes reflecting the strands on the dandelion seed head. This also created a middle ground in widths between the triangular strokes and the seeds.  The use of blue as a background colour although very fresh, felt like it didn’t represent a dandelion enough with it being the dominant colour. The sandy grey colour was much better at creating an earthy complementary colour to the rest of the scheme.
