Studio Brief 2 - Object - Clock Typeface

Clock Typeface

The typeface uses clock hand motions to create the letterforms. The second hand creates the curved sections of the letters and the inner hour and minute hands create the horizontal and vertical lines. Where there is only one inner line this shows that both the minute and hour hands have overlapped. The designs are effective as halves with two coming together to make up a whole ‘clock’, however letters such as an M would not fit into this format. Using the whole circle is more representational of a clock face, however creating letters like a J and K is quite difficult.
