Visualisations of a Binary Clock

In a binary clock each row of squares is equal to a number either 1,2,4 or 8. Lit up squares represent the numbers to look at, these values in each section are then added together to create the time. The first two columns represent the hours, the second two the minutes and the last two the seconds. To visualise this the columns have been combined to bring together the hours, minutes and seconds of the clock making it read more like a digital clock. When all the columns were brought together into one line this created an abstract representation however there is no distinction between the columns making it less functional.

Representations of the history of the doomsday clock

The closer the block or line is to the line, signifies the closest to the nuclear destruction we have been. The blocks and lines represent a chronology of the how many minutes we have been to destroying the planet. In the top design the blocks gradually become bigger closer to the line showing an increase in danger. The top line or block represents the time we are at now.

These signify all the points the clock has been at through the history of the doomsday clock. The increase in colour / darkness signifies the increase in danger and closeness to midnight.
