Studio Brief 1 - Wayfinding - Interim Crit

Interim Crit Feedback

-        Owls are nocturnal, could I create a system that functions in the dark? Spotlights could be used to light up the areas where the owls are, which would draw attention to them. Could the system be projected, moving or animated, similar to Light Night installations?

-        Are there specific vantage points that are best for viewing the owls? If they are higher up are there buildings opposite that people could be sent to?

-        Are there architectural similarities between the buildings that could be drawn from? Use as a way of linking the different places.

Things I need to consider:

-        How to draw people’s attention up to the owls. How far will they need to look up?

-        How can I show distances between the different locations? How can I lead people from one to the next?

-        Does it have to be a permanent system? Can it be physical? Could the Coats of Arms be laser cut and placed on the sides of the buildings?
