Terrarium Tools

- closed terrariums have small openings which mean long small long handled tools are needed

- deep containers with small openings make it difficult to get plants within the terrariums
- tools within the video are based on 1970s designs from out of print books
- household items can be used such as forks, sponges, brushes etc
- different tools have different uses within the terrarium e.g. a fork can rake / turn over soil, a cork can act as a tamper, a hook can lift plants up or take out old leaves, a spoon is useful for digging, a brush is used for dusting soil off plants / leaves
- these can be attached to bamboo sticks with linen twine
- long handled tweezers are also useful for picking things out of terrariums or putting them in

- toolkits are available to buy with all the various things you would need to tend / build a terrarium with
