Breaking the flowers down
Based on the video tutorials and the basic way of creating each of the flowers, shapes were created for each of the elements within the flowers. The flowers were broken down into thier main component parts and simplified to create basic shapes.
Both flower elements and leaves were created as the leaves would also be used within the design to create a fuller and more realistic composition.
When put together different parts of the flowers would be bent and curled to create a more organic look to the paper, so some elements of the lasercut shapes were made quite simply e.g. the dandelion head would be created using a rectangle with lines cut through it which would then be bent so that they opened up to create the flower head.
Keeping the shapes quite simple would make the lasercutter more likely to cut out all of the details, as sometimes if the design is too small or intricate it will cut through other elements
