Brief Analysis








Brief

The brief is to create a brand identity and promotional material for Offcut who are an online start up art and craft supply business with a twist. Offcut sell offcuts, scrap and reclaimed materials to hobbyists, designers, crafters and creatives who use their products in a variety of ways. All products are offcuts from industry or reclaimed / salvaged, providing an alternative source of materials for creatives. Offcut specialises in sheet materials.

Offcut believes strongly in the value of materials, new, old or dis­­­carded and aims to provide quality and unique materials for a reasonable price. Offcut strives to supply materials and supplies that won’t be found elsewhere and promotes and enables environmentally sustainable initiatives (reuse, recycling, upcycling) within creative disciplines.

Should appeal to a contemporary design and craft audience and the environmentally conscious creative.

Background Considerations

- Consider the uniqueness of the materials on offer
- The brand believes in reuse, recycling and upcycling consider this when creating promotional material – keep it simple and don’t use excessive packaging / materials
- Consider the sources of the materials being sold
- How are the materials used by the target audience? Appeal to these needs.




Mandatory Requirements 

- The design must be contemporary and appeal to creatives across disciplines
- Should reflect the qualities of the materials on offer


Deliverables 

Identity: Logo, Shop Banner, Typefaces / Typography, Colour Scheme and any other graphical elements 
- Promotional Material: Packaging for Materials, Packing Slip, Imagery of Products
- 6x Design Boards
- Blog complete with Research, Initial Ideas, Development, Production and Final Outcome
