Crit Feedback
- The Henry Moore designs look contemporary and distinct, which some perhaps preferred over the Ziff Gallery designs. It was said that perhaps an extra block needed to be included in the design at the side because there was a bit of empty space.
- For the Ziff Gallery designs it was said that perhaps the top one was better as this had more variety in line widths, however it was said that perhaps the design was too obvious and looked a little digital
- The West Gallery design with the items on the wall, everyone agreed weren't as effective as the other designs.
- The West Gallery design with Lothar Gotzs work was said to be a strong design and looked refined and contemporary.
- The most popular design for the 'Celebrating 130 years' was the second one down, as the text is most legible through the use of spacing, looked contemporary and instantly reflected the building. The bottom design was said to look a little squashed whilst the top ones text was perhaps too small and looked a little edgy for a penny design.
- The Tiled Hall Cafe design was said to be strong with any being fine it would be just dependent on the process of the etching. However it was said that the second one perhaps looked the most detailed and reflects the intricacy of the Tiled Hall Cafe.
Moving Forward:
- refining the line and type sizes will be important to make sure the designs work for the etching process. Type will be increased to 5.5pt and made a heavier weight to make them bolder and more likely to work during the etching process.
- the West Gallery design with the objects in it will be discarded
- the Henry Moore design will be used with the black fill
