Crit Feedback
It was said that the 'moving around the Sun' idea worked well in creating a sense of the seasons and the journey through them. It was said that because you can see the seasons in front of them it reflects a progression through the year. It was said however that people were unsure as to how the idea could be developed further, which I had also considered. It was asked how the calendar would be displayed, initially I explained it would be an A5 desk calendar in which the months would be worked through by moving them to the back of the stack. However it was considered that this could be better if made into a large wall print instead as it would be more striking.
For the 'flip-book style' calendar it was said that the designs potentially looked more consistent then I had considered and that it could be interesting to explore the idea further.
The last idea reflects the seasons and the amount of light that the Earth gets through the year. This is shown through simple geometric versions of the Earth. It was said that the interactive tear off element of the pieces was interesting and would create a tactile and decorative item. It was said that the group would be more likely to use this design. It was questioned as to whether the positioning of the type could be looked at more and whether it could be more functional in terms of the days etc. It was said that this design had the most personality and would stand out. It was also suggested that potentially looking at different weights of paper could be interesting to reflect different parts of the year / seasons
