Crit Feedback
One of the the initial ideas was to create an environment from natural materials that were recorded for ambient music. It was suggested that as a development for this idea a zen garden could be created using different materials. This could be be an interesting source of research for creating the environment. To visualise the idea of crystals in the rain, which Brian Eno described as his first inspiration for ambient music, it was said that a rain shaker could be created to mimic the sound of rain. Later it was also considered that perhaps crystals or made ones could be put in a clear rain shaker so that when the design is interacted with the crystals would make the sound of rain. It was suggested that looking into William Basinski who did disintegration loops may help with further ideas. For the knives and forks idea it was suggested that people could interact with these which would create the clatter / noise of the dinner parties that Table music was created for. Perhaps making a wind chime of knives and forks could be another way of creating this sound, however it was considered that this could be a little annoying within an exhibition setting.
