OUGD503 - Studio Brief 1 - G . F Smith (Large Individual) - Mini Crit

Mini Crit

It was said that the scenes for each season created from dots would need to be created over three pages one per month to create a year. It was suggested that for Autumn the leaves could get less and less like they're falling off or they could get smaller and smaller like they are disappearing. For winter it was said that the circles could be stacked to form laying snow rather than having a rectangle at the bottom of the page. It was said that this design would be best per months rather than per week otherwise it would get too complicated. It was difficult to come up with recognisable scenes for Summer however it was said that perhaps the Sun could rise and fall . When explaining the circles representing the different amounts of sun that hits the Earth it was found that the order that the circles were in didn't reflect the right months so when creating the design again this would have to be considered further. It was said that some of the dots could be shades of one colour rather than all different ones to show more of a gradual change between colours. It was said for the idea with the circles curving into the distance the background colour could be the colour of the dot that has just passed. It was also said that the Colourplan colours were a limited palette meaning their wouldn't be enough colours per season for some of the ideas e.g. the dots per day. This would mean that the design may have to be converted to months / weeks rather than days.
