Colour Palette Development
To create a starting point for a colour palette reflecting the different seasons, colour swatches were taken from a range of imagery collected off the internet that were related to the seasons in some way. By collecting numerous images this would allow for a wide selection of colours to be picked allowing for a sense of the seasons to be created. From these initial colours these were then compared with the colours available from the 50 Colourplan papers and a further colour palette was compiled for each of the seasons based on these.
Many of the colours within the initial colour palette were similar to others which meant the next colour palette was more refined because it got rid of duplicate colours. The colours were chosen in terms of being the best match to colours from the original palette. Also choosing a range of colours to reflect the initial colour palette rather than all the same tone was important as a way of creating an representation of the different aspects of each season.
