It was said that the more textured backgrounds worked really well. The concept which reflects the title 'From the Big Bang to Black Holes ' it was said summed up the concept well. However it was said that perhaps this would be the generic concept that everyone would go for, although the group said that the use of the photography was a different take on the concept which made it stand out.

It was said that the scanned imagery in one of the designs tied in really well with the concept of movement in string theory, where the 'strings' vibrate at different frequencies.It was said that the design is intriguing and would make the reader want to look into the book more to find out what it was about. The use of lines it was suggested could also reflect timelines which ties with the narrative suggested in the book and title. It was questioned as to whether the barcode could be moved back to it's original postion and after looking at previous winners it was found that no one else has moved this around so this should be adjusted back to where it is supposed to go.

Overall it was said that the string theory design made on the scanner was the most effective and original concept, whilst also linking to string theory both in materiality and movement.
