Key features of the Publicity Material:
- Festival of Britain always written in all uppercase letters
- Main colours used blue, gold / yellow, red , white and black. Reflects the colours used in the Union Jack creating a sense of Britishness. Use of Gold suggests wealth and prosperity which could be seen as a wealth of creativity rather than physical money due tot he effects of the war on the economy.
- Festival emblem is almost always centrally aligned to the design creating a sense of equal and open space around it. Compass suggests the ability of movement in any direction into the space around the compass.
- Distinct mix of typeface use and arrangement with no set layout aside from 'Festival of Britain' being the most prominant typography.
